Job Description

The Missionary & Missions & Community Service Coordinator at House of Mercy Christian Assembly plays a pivotal role in leading the church’s spiritual growth and outreach efforts. This dual role combines pastoral leadership with mission coordination to expand the Gospel’s reach and serve the spiritual and practical needs of both the congregation and the wider community.

This position is ideal for a passionate, visionary servant-leader committed to evangelism, discipleship, and community transformation through sustainable outreach initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Spiritual Leadership
    • Lead weekly Sunday services, Bible studies, and prayer meetingsto nurture spiritual growth and biblical understanding within the church.
    • Preach and teach God’s Word with clarity and conviction, aligning with HMCA’s faith and doctrine.
    • Provide oversight and spiritual leadership during church programmes and seasonal initiatives.
  1. Missionary Outreach
  • Spearhead evangelism efforts, including weekly street ministry at Stratford Station every Saturday at 2 PM.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to engage local and international communities with the message of the Gospel.
  • Encourage a lifestyle of evangelism and service among the congregation.
  1. Pastoral Care
  • Provide spiritual counseling, encouragement, and support to church members and community individuals in need.
  • Facilitate follow-up with new converts, visitors, and those experiencing life challenges.
  • Be available for prayer, visitation, and pastoral guidance as needed.
  1. Administrative Support
  • Assist in church administration, including managing outreach records, event planning, and ministry logistics.
  • Help ensure smooth coordination of church activities, services, and mission projects.
  1. Missions & Community Service Coordination
  • Coordinate community service projects, ensuring alignment with the church’s values and strategic goals.
  • Organise and lead mission trips, including logistical planning, team development, and spiritual preparation.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with external organisations to strengthen outreach impact.
  • Mobilise and manage volunteersfor both local and international mission initiatives.
  • Facilitate training programmesthat equip church members with skills and knowledge for outreach and service.
  • Oversee fundraising effortsto sustain mission activities and outreach projects.
  • Monitor and evaluatethe effectiveness of mission and community initiatives, reporting outcomes to leadership.
  1. Training & Development
  • Mentor and disciple individuals in their spiritual walk and ministry calling.
  • Identify and nurture emerging leaders within the church for greater kingdom impact.

Key Competencies and Strengths:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Deep passion for evangelism, missions, and community transformation.
  • Proven experience in organizing and leading mission trips or outreach projects.
  • Ability to engage with diverse communities with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of Scripture and sound theological understanding of missions and service.
  • Capacity to manage projects, budgets, and partnerships effectively.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, salaried position, requiring approximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility for ministry-related events and mission activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Weekday project coordination and preparation.
  • Sunday services and midweek church activities.
  • Saturday street evangelism and other outreach engagements.
  • Occasional travel for mission trips or conferences.
