Job Description

The Presenter/Host will play a central role in House of Mercy Christian Assembly’s (HMCA) television and digital media ministry, engaging audiences with faith-based discussions, interviews, and inspirational content. This individual will be responsible for presenting live and pre-recorded programmes, ensuring engaging and impactful delivery that aligns with HMCA’s mission and values.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks

Present Live and Recorded Programmes
o Host faith-based discussions, church services, and interviews with guests.
o Deliver inspiring and informative content in a professional and engaging manner.
o Ensure smooth transitions and clear communication during live broadcasts.
Engage with the Audience
o Interact with viewers through live Q&A sessions, social media engagement, and prayer requests.
o Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for audiences of all backgrounds.
o Encourage viewer participation and promote church initiatives.
Collaborate with Production Teams
o Work closely with producers, directors, and scriptwriters to develop programme content.
o Assist in planning show formats, topics, and guest appearances.
o Ensure all content is aligned with biblical teachings and HMCA’s core values.
Interview and Moderate Discussions
o Conduct interviews with church leaders, guest speakers, and community figures.
o Moderate panel discussions and ensure balanced and insightful conversations.
o Prepare and research topics to facilitate meaningful discussions.
Support Fundraising and Outreach Initiatives
o Present appeals for fundraising and donor engagement initiatives.
o Promote HMCA’s charitable projects, events, and ministry activities.
o Encourage audience support and involvement in church missions.

Supporting Responsibilities and Tasks

Social Media and Digital Promotion
o Collaborate with the media team to create promotional content for digital platforms.
o Engage with online audiences through video messages and live-streamed interactions.
o Ensure content is optimised for social media and digital outreach.
Programme Development and Script Preparation
o Assist in script development and segment planning for broadcasts.
o Review and rehearse scripts to ensure effective delivery.
o Adapt messaging to suit different formats, including television, radio, and online content.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
A deep understanding of biblical principles and Christian faith-based teachings.
Experience in broadcasting, media, or public speaking is an advantage.
Ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
Confident and dynamic personality with a warm and welcoming demeanour.
Proficiency in working with teleprompters, live broadcast tools, and digital media platforms.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced media environment.

Work Conditions

Requires flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends for live broadcasts and events.
Involves both studio-based and on-location presenting.
May require travel for ministry events, interviews, and outreach initiatives.
