Job Description

Position: Full-Time, Salaried

About This Role

The Prayer & Intercession Leader at House of Mercy Christian Assembly is responsible for organising prayer meetings, mentoring prayer groups, and providing spiritual guidance to the congregation. This position requires a devoted and spiritually mature individual with a strong passion for intercession and a commitment to leading others in deepening their prayer lives.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Organise and Lead Prayer Meetings, including corporate prayer sessions, overnight vigils, and intercessory gatherings.
  • Mentor and Guide Prayer Groups, equipping members with biblical principles of prayer and intercession.
  • Provide Spiritual Guidance and Pastoral Support to individuals and teams in need of encouragement and counselling.
  • Develop and Implement Prayer Strategies that align with the vision and mission of the church.
  • Encourage and Train Church Members in intercessory prayer, helping them grow in faith and spiritual discipline.
  • Coordinate Prayer Chains and Special Prayer Initiatives, ensuring continuous spiritual covering over church activities and members.
  • Engage with the Leadership Team to integrate prayer into all church ministries and activities.
  • Foster a Culture of Prayer and Spiritual Sensitivity, encouraging a deeper connection with God.
  • Monitor and Evaluate the Impact of Prayer Programmes, making adjustments as necessary for greater effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Other Ministry Leaders to support church events and outreach efforts through prayer.

  • Experience in leading and coordinating prayer teams.

  • Strong discernment and sensitivity to spiritual matters.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Senior Pastor and works closely with the pastoral team and other ministry leaders.

Personal Responsibilities

While not directly related to the job role, every staff member at House of Mercy Christian Assembly is expected to:

  • Maintain God-ordained priorities by putting Jesus Christ first, family second, and ministry third.
  • Give at least 10% of income toward the mission and vision of House of Mercy Christian Assembly.
  • Be loyal to the vision and staff of House of Mercy Christian Assembly and protect the unity of the church.
  • Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in all interactions with the congregation, staff, and volunteers.
  • Invest and invite others to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ and participate in House of Mercy Christian Assembly programmes.

Your Schedule

This is a full-time, salaried position requiring approximately 40 hours per week. The schedule includes weekday planning, prayer meetings, Sunday services, and flexibility for special intercessory events and ministry needs.
