About This Role
The primary responsibility of the Children’s Ministry Coordinator is to ensure that each encounter with the children’s ministry of House of Mercy Christian Assembly is inviting to both members and guests. The Children’s Ministry Coordinator casts vision, plans, and advocates for the faith development, safety, and discipleship of children.
Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Children’s Ministry Coordinator
- Collaborates with other members of the children’s ministry team to plan and execute a comprehensive program that includes worship, fellowship, and age-appropriate studies that guide children as they grow in
- Lead in the creation and annual updating of safety policies and
- Choose and provide all children’s ministry curriculum and plan, create, and implement weekly programs for
- Regularly and intentionally communicate with parents, families, and children’s ministry leaders within the church and in our community to ensure that children have many opportunities to
- Recruit, train, and encourage children’s ministry
- Plan and organize an annual Vacation Bible School for the summer
- Respond to emails, phone calls, and other inquiries in the children’s ministry in a timely and professional
- Prepare classroom materials in a timely manner and ensure that classrooms are set up and ready for Sunday services and special
- Oversee the schedule of children’s ministry volunteers for Sunday services and other events to ensure that all positions are covered and an adequate child to volunteer ratio is maintained.

Your Team
This position reports to the Children’s Pastor.
This position works closely with a team of children’s ministry volunteers who serve during weekend services and in various ways during the week.
Key Performance Indicators
The strategy of the ministries that the Children’s Ministry Coordinator leads reflects the overall growth strategy of
the church:

The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will be evaluated on the following three metrics:
- Recruit 10 new volunteers and/or leaders by
Design and implement a strategy for encouraging more volunteers to serve with the children’s ministry. Identify and onboard 10 new volunteers across age groups.
- Create 2019 annual calendar and integrate with overall church planning
Plan children’s ministry learning opportunities and events in alignment with church-wide initiatives to increase engagement and participation.
- Increase children’s ministry attendance by 10%.
Create a strategy to invite more children to learn with the children’s ministry during weekend services and to attend children’s ministry events.

Your Schedule
This is a part-time, hourly position around 15-25 hours a week with four days spent in the office and one day of flexible working location.
